    The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is a provincial Crown corporation established in 1973 to provide universal auto insurance to BC motorists. In addition, the Corporation is responsible for driver licensing, vehicle registration and licensing.

    In the spring of 2001, ICBC approached Portal 80 Multimedia to create on online practice test to help studying students prepare for the real drivers license knowledge exam. The OPKT has many features that enabled students to have a full experience -- features such as:

    • Recreating a self-paced, similar looking environment
    • Sign up new users, login returning students
    • Randomly generating weighted questions from large pool
    • Polling and opt-in features
    • Automatically email results and references from driver's manual to students
    • Challenging friends via email with scores

    The Online Practice Knowledge Test has been a huge success. With over 1.5 million test already completed, Portal 80 has developed a rich application that far exceeded ICBC's expectations.
